We are a socially and environmentally conscious architecture practice with a ‘first principles’ approach to every project we undertake. This care in our approach has resulted us becoming adept at dealing with challenging sites such as green belt land, conservation areas, and works to listed buildings.

We find ourselves regularly looking outwith our own core disciplines of for inspiration including into product and textile design, art, graphics and furniture, not to mention the ever changing world around us. We work from the smallest scale alterations and design vignettes up to master-planning and urban strategies for growth and development.

As a Glasgow-based office, we are embedded in a post-industrial city and have consequently fostered a fascination with the UK’s history of artfully making things. This is something we seek to emulate in the work we do; we love looking at materials and imbuing them with a richness missing from much of the built work in the world today.

We have a passion for detail, craftsmanship and technical innovation which is underpinned by strong academic links to the world renowned Glasgow School of Art. Both Matt and Iain are actively involved in both teaching and technical research at the institution.

We aim to make each project unique, thoughtful and beautiful - a poetic response to both it's place and time.
